Today I am going to write something about which many of the dark skin men suffer .
Firstly,
In whichever country you are please try to understand that even dark skin men are beautiful inside out .They too have a family as you do, they too are responsible and should be respected . Yes should be .
Few of the issues dark skin men face are .
1.When they work for a reputed big organisation they are seen low many at times . It's like they put all the hardwork and come up with a product and the person who presents it will be the so called good looking ,tall,fair and well built person . But let me tell you not everyone who looks good are brilliant and not all dark men are not presentable . Hardwork has to be recognized at any cost .
2. Many of the companies do not recruit dark men (Not in india) . They need white passports .I agree that many fly to other countries for a better life but they should be given chances . Not by looks by the knowledge they have.
3.You might be knowledgeable but if you are dark your salary goes down .For example for the same designation you will be paid 1x and a white passport guy would get 2.5 x . This difference should change. Pay for the brain not the colour .
4.Once you land in Chennai airport they think you are a smuggler and ask you a million questions or check your bag a million times because you look dark and rugged . Once you open your mouth and talk in english they are like ok Sir !This has to change .
5.If you are a Hindu and if you are a brahmin and if you are dark then they ask brahmin ah ? This is the worst i have seen so far . This has to change .
People talk about...modernlifestyle,spirituality,money,fame,status simple lifestyle,minimalism,vegans and what not ?
Let me tell you if you cant treat a fellow human in a good way then there is no use of whatever you have with you .
It would be great if people understand that dark skin men too have a life and they are better than many out there .

It seems like it is this way in many places. It's possible things are not as bad as they once were, like hundreds of years ago, so maybe it is changing over time.

Do the castes still play a role in who gets hired?
I wish this changes soon in a better way . The brahmin point was not regarding a job offer it's a common thing in the society . Like if you are dark they say finding a partner is difficult or else they say he is good in all aspects but yes not that fair . When it comes to matrimony search it's a big deal as far as I know . Even if the girl likes many parents dont appreciate or else if the parents like the girl doesnt like .While recruiting for a job I dont think it plays a major role but sometimes it does.

DeleteAbsolutely, Shilpa. Fully agree with you. It's appalling to find some people getting influenced by stereotypical ideas. I always believe that aspects like physical appearance, language one speaks, religion one belongs to, region one comes from etc., are all only labels, that shouldn't matter. It's who we are in terms of our personal behavioural qualities that should matter.

DeleteI do not agree with you on Item Number 3. Here is an example. An American passport holder gets a job in Middle East. An Indian passport holder gets a job also in Middle East. Please look at their expenses back home. They both leave the family back home and/or they have to save some money and go back home. Cost of bread-USA $2.35 (Rs.176). Cost of bread in India Rs.60. Average rent for a 2 bedroom flat in USA $1600 (Rs.120,000). Average rent for a 2 bedroom flat in India is Rs.20,000. Meal for 2 people in a Mid-Range restaurant 3 course in USA is $50 (Rs.3,750). Same in India is Rs.800.
ReplyDeleteIf they both are paid the same Indian Salary, the American citizen will not be able to live. If they both are paid the same American Salary, it will be an outrageous salary for the Indian.
This is absolute wrong with the logic .An European and Indian living in middle east with the same company with same designation should be paid the same salary .Nationality/passport colour focus are extreme in middle east
DeleteI have an idea. Pay all Americans and Europeans in Middle East same salary as Indian employees. There is an advantage. None of these "white passport" holders will come there to work. This way the companies can recruit more Indusns.
DeleteI am not saying about the recruitment process .I am saying that favouritism for white is there hence the so called many indians and dark skin people are not getting opportunities. Again I am not talking about capabilities . Without knowing the knowledge and capabilities they have the dark skinned men are judged even starting the process itself .
DeleteIt is true, some people have an affinity towards white skin, the colour of every blood is red though. If we come to the sports world, the dark skin proves its worth much ahead of others. So, it is not the skin, but the might of the brawns and nimbleness of the brains that determine the quality. When one illustrates one's calibre, definitely one gets acceptance. Beauty lies in the beholder's eyes. Nice, Shilpa.
